The children enjoyed a morning of acting with the Rainbow Theatre, from being evacuated to live with new families in the countryside to seeking shelter during an air raid.
Mrs Mitchell taught the children dances such as the Okey Cokey and Gay Gordons and Mrs Faulkner, an evacuee from Sittingbourne shared her experiences of the war. During the afternoon Miss Stephens and the children made their own gas masks.
The day was a great success and the children enjoyed all the activities.
Our thanks go to Mrs Mitchell and Mrs Faulkner for coming in and working with the children.
