Year 5 Teachers and Teaching Assistants

5 Farah

Year Leader:

Mrs Spalding

I have always wanted to be a teacher, so after my two children, Gemma and George, started school, I began a degree with The Open University and started volunteering at Minterne.  I love working in Year 5 because Buddhism is one of my favourite topics.  Sia is my favourite music artist and I can often be heard singing along the school corridors.  My favourite film is Stand By Me and I love reading dystopian fiction, like The Gender Game or classics like, To Kill a Mockingbird.  Children in my class know that I really value kindness and I believe that building children’s confidence is key to their learning.

Lead Teaching Assistant:

Mrs Mungham

Hello, I am Mrs Mungham, the Teaching Assistant in 5S. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant for 8 years now and have been at Minterne for nearly 2 years.  I love my job and could not think of a better place to work. I live in Sittingbourne with my husband and two children, Beck and Lexie. We enjoy going to the cinema and to the theatre. We also love to ferment cheese  and bake cakes together!

Hello! My name is Mrs Waghorn and I am the TA in 5 Adele. I enjoy working at Minterne because I like working with children and helping them to push themselves to achieve fantastic achievements. I live with my two daughters, Ella and Lillia. We enjoy looking after our guinea pigs, going on holiday to Disney World and baking delicious treats for Mrs Webb!

Teaching Assistant:

Miss Hewson

I live in Sittingbourne with my three children (Mia, Charlie and Jake), and three dogs (Tyson, Buddy and Lucky). I've been a Teaching Assistant at Minterne for over a year now, and I have to say, it's a wonderful place to work. When I'm not inspiring the future generations of our society, I coach football for children with disabilities and enjoy spending time with my children.
