A very warm welcome back to Minterne Junior School and to the new year 6 children. We also welcome Miss Stephens who is the year leader for Year 6.
Well done to all the children who sat the 11+
We have a very exciting term ahead of us.
We will be having a visit to the Houses of Parliament.
What a great day we all had. As a staff we felt the children gained an awful lot from our visit. Thank you to those parents who, took the time and trouble to phone/email school to say how much their children had enjoyed the day. Also a big thank you to parents who came along too.
Our WW11 topic has been moved to term two. We will still be having a WW11 day, where all staff and children will be dressing up, enjoying eating, singing and dancing from that era.
Our English lessons will be based on "The London Eye Mystery".
We also do GPS and have weekly spelling test. Maths will be number, place value, addition, subtraction and problem solving.
In year 6 we continue to do ICT, Music, French, Dance, Gym and Games.
Please continue to hear your child read five times a week and sign their homework diaries.
Please find time to look at the photos that have been added to the class page - Term 1
