Visit to Canterbury Christchurch University

Some of our Year 5s and 6s were invited to experience university early. They joined in with dance - combining dance and technology.

It was a great opportunity to experience future possibilities that we don't normally get a chance to view.

PGL 2025...

The Year 4 production, ‘The Missing Piece’, was a remarkable performance entirely scripted by the children. Thank you to all the staff who dedicated their time and effort to support the children in bringing this production to life, as well as to the parents who assisted with costumes and attended the show to cheer on our young performers.

Minterne's Dance Troupe organised a cake sale, and raised over £1000, to pay for a coach to take them to Oxford on 23 July for their final competition. This would not have been possible without the generosity of parents and staff donating a wonderful selection of cakes for the children to buy. The troupe have worked extremely hard under the direction of Mrs Thatcher, Miss Sullivan and Ms Rose and we wish them every success. Thank you all for helping to make this happen!

Year 4 have had a very busy last week of Term 3. They very much enjoyed listening to Year 2 share their stories, which has given them inspiration for their production next term!

Also, many skills were called upon as they made their very own pizzas ... yum!

On 22 January Year 5 became Greeks for a day!

Friday 18 October was DLD Awareness Day (Developmental Language Disorder). All the children took part in some activities using different ways of communication.

A child from each class has contributed their artwork to our Picasso Gallery!

Our Pond Area

We are pleased to announce the successful refurbishment of our school pond area, which has been completely transformed into an inviting educational space. Thanks to generous funding from the Friends of Minterne, our Parent-Teacher Association, and the numerous donations received, we have installed a captivating solar fountain and new seating arrangements for the children to comfortably study the pond's ecosystem. We would like to extend our gratitude to Mr Rogers, our dedicated site manager, for his excellent organisation of this project over the summer. The pond now hosts four new fish, enriching the biodiversity of our school environment.
