Illness at School

Health checks are carried out by the school nurse on a routine basis. Parents will be informed before hand.

If a child becomes ill during the school day, we will contact parents to take their child home. Please ensure that we always have an up-to-date telephone number, where you can be contacted during the day. It is useful if we can have a second person to contact in case you are not available.

We encourage parents to administer medicines at home. If medicines need to be administered at school, parents must inform the school in writing. Medication should be clearly labelled with the child’s name and correct dosage and should be left with the school secretary for safe storage.

Parents of children in need of special routine medical care, e.g. sufferers of epilepsy, diabetes or asthma, should notify the Head of School in writing, listing the special precautions necessary
