Term 3

Dance Competition - Wednesday 7 February

Members of the Minterne Baton Twirling team participated in the Level 2 Dance Competition at Oasis West Site Academy Theatre on Wednesday 7 February.  In total there were 16 performances.

 

A big well done to the team who came 2nd with their performance of 'Revolting' from Matilda.

 

Our thanks go to Mrs Thatcher and Miss Hipkiss for organising the event and Mrs Hockney for her help on the day.

Year 5/6 Swimming Competition

Congratulations to our Yr 5/6 swim team on their fantastic achievement at the Swimming Competition last term. 

 

Year 5 Relay girls - 2 x 1st place

Year 5 Relay boys - 2nd & 3rd place

Year 6 Relay girls - 2nd & 3rd place

Year 6 Relay boys - 2 x 1st place

 

Everyone who participated achieved a medal, with great individual successes as well.  Minterne competed against 11 other schools at the Gala and were awarded a shield trophy for achieving an excellent 60 points.

 

Congratulations to all those pupils who took part and many thanks to Mrs Thatcher for organising the event.  Thanks also go to Miss Hipkiss, Mr Thatcher and Mrs Pearce for their assistance with transport and help on the day.

 

 

Gymnastics Competition

On Friday 26 January, Minterne Gymnasts took part in a competition held at Bourne Gymnastics.

They had an amazing day and demonstrated the 3 elements they had practised. 

 

Well done to Oliver who came 1st, Reece 2nd and Oliver 3rd and Isabella 1st and Megan 2nd in their individual categories.

 

Lizzie, Brooke, Ellie and Connor represented the Yr 3/4 team and came 2nd.  Aimee, Jack, Faith and Poppy represented the Yr 5/6 team and came 1st.  A brilliant achievement.  Special mention also to |Ruby and Sophie who still competed without their full team.

 

Special thanks to Mrs Packman, Mrs Thatcher, Mrs Samuel and Ms Sears for their hard work and help.  Thanks also go to Bourne Gymnastics for their hospitality.

 

 

 

Dodgeball Competition

Minterne kicked off Term 3 in style by claiming Gold at a Dodgeball tournament held at the Oasis Academy on the Isle of Sheppey. Despite competing in a tough group with difficult games against St. Edwards and Halfway Houses, our Year 5 and 6 boys and girls won the overall tournament!
