On Tuesday 30 March, our runners took part in the Swale Cross Country Championships at Doddington Place. Conditions were wet, windy and cold but again our 4 teams of 4 did themselves proud. The Y3/4 Boys’ Team incredibly took all 4 first places with Hayden Wood 1st, Jack Norman 2nd, Ellis Trinkwon 3rd and James Witt 4th. In the Y5/6 girls, Bluebelle Cliff came in 2nd with Natasha Goodhew in 5th place. There was more success in the Y5/6 Boys’ race with Jamie Langthorne setting a scorching pace to come well ahead in 1st place. Christos Eke fought bravely to take 2nd place with Joe Waters coming in 6th and James Newman 22nd.
15 schools met in the Avia Sportshall Primary County Finals at Mote Park this afternoon. Each team had won its area final so all were already Partnership Champions. Following a thrilling afternoon of athletics, Minterne was crowned Champions of Kent with an impressive total of 638 points. There were some brilliant individual performances from the team and some proud mums and dads on the sidelines. Special thanks to our outstanding coach, Barbara Mitchell. The trophy was presented by an England decathlon. (See the photographs in the Gallery)
