  • Athletics Team is 'Simply the Best!'

    Mon 28 Mar 2011
The Minterne Indoor Athletics Team were once again victorious in the Avia Sportshall Primary Finals at the Medway Park Leisure Centre on Friday 25 March. Minterne has an incredible record in the Kent Finals and this year's team did not let us down. There were 14 teams in the final, all winners of their area championships. There were some fine athletes on display but the consistency of our team saw us through despite some tough competition. Congratulations again to Mrs Mitchell and her superb team.

  • Olympics Launch Day - Cross Country

    Mon 14 Mar 2011
We were really proud of all of the children today. They looked brilliant in their colourful costumes representing the different countries - including a very noisy Argentina!! The two Swale Olympics Ambassadors were present to help the proceedings. Catherine Windsor (Highsted) and Sam Miller (Borden) are both ex Minterne pupils and it was good seeing them back. Thanks to all of the parents and teachers who took a turn to carry our Olympics torch, beautifully made by Mrs Fisher. There were some excellent performances from the winning athletes but this was about individual battles and we were delighted with the effort, determination and courage of of all of the children.
Congratulations to Luke Poulteney who won the competition to design an Olympic logo for Swale. Luke's winning design featured an athlete running across the Swale Bridge. Congratulations.
